What do you think about the outcome of the 2000 Grammy Awards?

I MEAN SURE SANTANA'S A LEGEND AND ALL AND HE DOES DESERVE THOSE AWARDS BUT BSB SHOULDVE GOT THE ONE STING GOT! STING ISNT AS POPULAR AS BSB, I DONT EVEN WHO STING IS!!! Submitted by Lorz from London England Date: Thu Mar 9 15:43:15 2000 Yeah, it's true that BSB didn't win an award even though they really deserved to get at least ONE of SIX they were nominated for, but then that's just my opinion. I do admit that I get a little peeved at Awards Shows when one act scoops and wins all the commercially popular ones, even if it's BSB. After all, there is no musician who can be the best at everything. But the thing I was the MOST annoyed at, is the fact that Rob Thomas wrote Smooth, Rob Thomas sung Smooth and Rob Thomas IS bloody Smooth, yet he didn't get all the credit he deserved. Although I totally disagree with the people on here before me who said that Santana doesn't sing so, therefore, he's not as talented as the BSB (come on, people, don't be so narrow-minded: music doesn't just consist of singing!), I DO I think the Grammys can sometimes become more of a popularity contest in the eyes of critics rather than good judgement of good music. Millennium is the biggest selling CD of the year and has the record for most sales in one week. The Grammy's always tend to cater to the older musicians which shows in the sweep by Santanna. What is up with Sting winning Best Pop Album? Once again, an older musician. Their performance was fantastic. I was excited to see them perform, because the last time they performed was at the MTV Music Awards in September. I really enjoyed seeing the BSB singing with Elton John. Although I was bummed that they didn't win any awards, I realized there are many years to come. I believe that they will keep making great hits and a Grammy is just around the corner. I don't think that he deserved to take all of the boys nominations just because he was the "comeback kid", which he really even wasn't. The point to my entry is that the boys got ripped off. Actually, RIPPED OFF! is more like it. But all of the fans know in their hearts that the boys deserved the awards more than santana. After all, the boys spend way more time making sure that the fans are happy. I didn't see that with santana. The boys care about their fans more, and that's what counts.
