Tamara,

Right now Brian and his wife are preparing for their new little boy. The baby is expected to be born in November/December.

In the meantime, Nick is promoting his album here in the states by doing radio shows and interviews. The album has production from Teddy Riley (Blackstreet), the Matrix, and Max Martin (Backstreet Boys). His video for 'Help Me' will debut in the states on September 16. His album comes out here October 29. Later this fall, Nick will start his solo tour.

Next year, Krystal (the artist signed to the boys personal label) will release her album in January. Some songs rumored to be on the album are titled Happy (AJ), Moving On (Wade Robson, Howie D.), and Let's Get It Together (Nikki Six of Motley Crue). The boys will finish their album within the next six months. It features production from Jimmy Jam and Terry Louis (Janet Jackson), Jermaine Dupri (Little Bow Wow, Da Brat, Mariah Carey), Glen Ballard (Dave Matthews Band, Alanis Morrisette), Linda Perry (Pink, 4 Non Blondes), Peter Gabriel, Brandon Obrien, and Soulshock and Karlin, and the boys themselves. It is expected to be released in the spring of 2003.

I was reading over what you guys had said about this article. It's kind of funny to me because if the Backstreet Boys haven't sold more albums or hasn't succeeded more, you all always blame Nsync. I dislike visiting and viewing this site and seeing you all whining and complaining. It is not fair that you always go to nsync and turn them into a scapegoats when they have nothing at all to do with the Backstreet Boys successes or failures. I mean I like both groups equally. You can't always put the blame on one and say "oh they sucks" and blah blah blah. It is annoying and immature altogether. The crying or being scared that backstreet boys will break up is so pathetic. If they break up (which they never will), just think about the enjoyable memories they left for you, but you all need to stop thinking that the Backstreet Boys going to be around for a very, very long time. They can't be around forever. This site is dedicated to the famous backstreet boys and only the backstreet boys. Nobody else. Not even nsync or any other groups. Stop putting blames on everybody and get a freaking life. Think positive. If you have any comments email me at angelic_star@blackplanet.com

Hey does anyone know what is really going on with BSB? Someone other than Nick has to talk to the media and let the fans know when the new album is coming out(or if it is coming out). Though I hate to think about it or say it, we may have seen the last of BSB unless one of them comes forward and speaks to the fans and lets us know the truth.

MTV has this in Nick Carter's bio section. (it's kind of long but says great things about the album and Nick's reasons for doing the album)

We first met Nick Carter, the sweet, blonde, blue-eyed member of the Backstreet Boys, about seven years ago. He knocked the socks off of girls and boys alike worldwide while receiving innumerable praise and awards from the music industry. Now that he is a bit older, we find him digging a little deeper to show us a side we’ve never seen before. Nick Carter is getting up to his own things these days. It’s his chance to break out and share a more personal side of himself while still doing the thing he loves - music. Making music that comes from his heart is something this 22 year-old has been yearning to do for quite a while. On his debut album, Now or Never, Nick brings a cathartic pen to paper to release what he says he’s “been holding inside for a long time.” We begin to watch the layers unfurl on each track as we hear a young man’s tales of life and love and growing up. His deepest thoughts and confusions, as well as his passions come across in the album’s songs. “It’s a release of energy – all sorts of energy that I’ve held inside for God knows how long;” Nick says, “now I get the freedom to do everything that I, myself want to do.” After fifteen years of performing, it is certainly his time to shine, but Nick is very modest about his success. “It’s not about shining,” he says, “it’s more so something that is helping me out as a person, and it’s kind of like therapy to me. I’m able to free myself and express myself.” He describes this move to do his own thing as a kid going off to college. He is breaking away from the family within the Backstreet Boys to spread his wings. This endeavor did not begin with a plan to make a solo record. It just so happens that Nick was messing around in the studio with the production team, KNS (Josh Schwartz and Brian Keirulf) and they came up with the song “Do I Have To Cry For You.” When the folks at Jive took a listen they were blown away, and so began the idea to make Now or Never. His work (and play) with KNS allowed him to experiment with writing for the first time. He co-wrote “Do I Have To Cry For You” as well as “Girls In The USA” and “I Stand For You” with them, and “My Confession” and “Is It Saturday Yet” with producers Gary Clark and Martin Brammer. Although he admits that he hasn’t reached his potential as a writer, he is very excited about the prospect of exploring his artistic side During the making of this record, Nick took to Sweden to work with good friend and songwriter extraordinaire, Max Martin (best known for his work with Britney Spears, The Backstreet Boys and Celine Dion). Before the recording process began, the two got into deep discussions about life and what Nick was going through at the time. The songs Max came up with and produced with partner, Rami, were closely related to Nick’s emotions so they were a perfect fit for the record. Now or Never has also been graced by the production skills of The Matrix, Steve Mac, Matthew Gerrard and Teddy Riley. “It’s a very personal album,” Nick says of the songs chosen for it, “every one has a connection of some sort.” While Now or Never delves into some deep topics, it doesn’t take itself way too seriously. It has the ability to transport you to the open road for a long drive while you sing every song at the top of your lungs. It reflects the freedom and passion that it is meant to reveal. “Help Me,” the first single from the album, was written by Matthew Gerrard and Michele Vice-Maslin and produced by Matthew Gerrard. It’s a fun ditty that we can all relate to. In it Nick sings about his confusion and appreciation of life and relationships while he begs the questions we all ask ourselves everyday. The tender ballad “Do I Have To Cry For You” works its way into a passionate and raw plea for some middle ground in a less than normal relationship. “Confession” is a very sweet and pleasant sonic journey that expresses honest affection towards a new love. Its bouncy guitars and textured beats are candy to the ears. Nick truly loves American Rock, and its influence shows up on the guitar-driven anthem “I Stand For You.” You can tell he was reared on a healthy serving of Bruce Springsteen, Journey and Bon Jovi. His rebellious lyrics like, “I’m gonna have an attitude,” are spoken with that sense of youthful invincibility and fervor. We see his compassionate side on the ballad “Heart Without a Home (I’ll Be There)” while the song “I Got You” calls out the words “they can’t touch me…now that I’ve got you” over a lush landscape of chimes, beats and subtle guitar wisps. It’s not all work for Nick Carter though. When he is not recording or touring he likes to rest – a lot. The ocean is another obsession of his. He enjoys taking his boat out and swimming or scuba diving as often as possible. He also makes it his priority to do his part to preserve the ocean, so much so that he began Nick Carter’s Ocean Campaign. He feels very strongly about the environment and intends to get more involved to protect it. As a result of his upbringing, he learned and experienced a lot more than the typical American teenager. This, he says, has made him “much more caring when it comes to the world and the place we live in.” He is more open now and would like to learn and share his experiences with as many people as possible.

All i know is, BSB are the greatest. They've opened doors for other pop artists, they helped the industry to boost, AND THEY ARE NOT JUST A GROUP WHO SING AND DANCE... BSB HAVE A BIG HEART AND THATS WHAT MAKES THEM SPECIAL. They are independent and can decide for themselves. They don't need any collaborations just to make their song hit the charts coz they sound great!!!!

I searched for Nick Carter Help Me Lyrics on google and there was a lot of fan sites with the lyrics, but mostly they're all different, because some of the words aren't really clear. And most of them are lyrics of the clip of Help Me that was released before Help Me hit the radio stations, and it's different from the full version.

Yeah Arthur was sooo hilarious. Muffy's so funny!

OMG! Some of it was good to know, but I don't know if some it is true. I thought I heard that their new album was coming out at the end of the year? I don't know now. Well, whenever it does come out, I will defenitely buy it. i have been waiting awhile. I don't think that Black and Blue was that bad. I liked it, and so did a lot of other people. I guess we will just have to wait and see what happens. Whatever happens I am sure that their fans will support them 100%!!

Hey again. If they did talk to mtv, it'll probably appear on mtv.com maybe tomorrow (monday)? So we'll know for sure then. But I had thought the release date had been pushed back to early 2003. If it is in december, that means a new single well be out in a month or so! But again it might just be a rumor. I guess we'll see.

Black and Blue was a failure???!!! I thought it was great. Just cuz it sold less its considered a failure? If Jive had promoted it more or released more than 3 singles it would've sold more. It was released a while after millennium so it wasn't that much of a rush job, and they wrote a lot of songs on it.

"NEW YORK (8/30/02) –The boys are back for a breath of fresh air. Recently, the Backstreet Boys, Kevin, AJ, Brian, Nick and Howie sat down with MTV for small talk. Records, babies, and everything in between.

Stepping back into the spotlight after almost two years since their last original album, the boys are here with a fresh new sound, putting their troubles behind them. T heir last album, “Black & Blue” was a failure in the eyes of many. Kevin Richardson says “We put a lot of effort into this new album. We took our time with it. ‘Black & Blue’ was hurried along by our managers, which didn’t give us enough time to give it our best.” Due out December 17, 2002, the boys are back with their full-length album, “Incredible”.

We wanted this album to really say to the fans you know, ‘hey we love you guys’ because since Black and Blue was released, we’ve been through a lot. Our fans are absolutely incredible, and they’ve stuck by us through so much.” Says the engaged AJ McLean.

Along with the album, fans can expect another tour, which will start in Europe and make its way to North and South America, and hopefully to Asia again. “We keep telling people we’ll have a worldwide tour. We actually haven’t, it’s kind of funny. This time we hope that we’ll make it to most places we haven’t visited in a long time,” stated Brian Littrell, soon to be a father. “We haven’t visited in three or four years. We started out there and we’re going back.”

Not only will a tour, but an entirely new line of merchandise, such as school supplies, clothing posters, and plenty of other goodies accompany the album.
“We’re really looking forward to this album. We mixed all of our tastes of music, so you’ll find dance and hip-hop, along with a rock-edge, and some mature, Elton John-type music. It’s going to be fun,” says Howie Dorough.

“We have a song called ‘Calling Me,’ which will get you up to dance. We’re also using the song AJ wrote, ‘Happy,’ which we know has a lot of meaning to him.”

“Hopefully we can put these rumors of us splitting behind us,” says Nick Carter, who is promoting his solo album, “Now of Never” due out October 29. The first single due out is named “Can’t Believe,” which combines up-beat dance tempos with strong guitar chords and a heavy drum beat. “It’s like nothing we’ve done before,” says AJ. “We’re changing. It’s a whole new Backstreet.” "
