I just know one thing about the media: reporters often write a lot of things that are not true! I think that we should wait and see...

Hello, all. I'd like to comment on this article. I do not disagree with the statements made here. The fact is nothing lasts forever, and it may just be time for the Boys to move on to other things. It seems that they are smart enough to know that they won't be hot forever, so they've decided to explore different avenues. What I do disagree with is the media's fixation on them, how they are rooting for them to fail. Does anyone pick on nsync this much? Just wondering. Sure, backstreet's music could be better, to match the great voices they already have, but I'm sure they'll do better with their new album. I've enjoyed their music for 3 years, but I always found myself expecting more. They could do so much better music-wise, but as for their fans, they have been loyal to them, and vice versa. I've never seen any artist care so much for fans. I'm thinking that the public picks on bsb so much because they were the first boy band. I don't know, that's just my opinion. All I have to say in conclusion is that maybe they should find a new record label (since jive keeps screwing them over), but maybe they can't find a new one for reasons we don't know. Also, they should stay positive and concentrate on what should really matter: the music.

Terri

Hey yall
Datz Sthefy again, Lil' kaos down here.
I'm happy of readin everybody's supportin the guys, I'm a lil' bit annoyed cuz only a few foreign fans wrote somethin in here, n I feel lone :( nah, juss kiddin. Ppl out there! Watch out! If we care that much bout a fuckin article, n lotta ppl wrote their opinions in here, it means dat we can use the time voting. i guess.
As I said, gotta compare it to a family, sometimes you might've rows, aruments, and even fist fight, but you're always a family member, the family bond is hard to break, and those guys r family. Let's (at least once) stop blamin nsuck. 'course they've somethin 2 do wit that, but we'r gonna prove our guys are better! I'm rite now studyin 4 a history exam in the current days, and, there's something so true in a piece of the lesson I'm studying. "Money and private property spoilled humanity" said by John Jacob Rousseau, philosopher in the eighteenth century. Ain't it true? Money's the big deal out there with the boys, but it's also what causes hunger and wars overseas. My country's sufferin economical crisis, and lotta crime n murders flood the news. So, if money affects that way in a country, it's able to do anything...even tryin to split a family. The guys r down 2 earth, we know it, but the bad thing about this is the surroundin ppl (I don't mean wives, gfs, fiancees, family), managers, recording labels, that's the bad thing in the music business.
Let's support our bros up there. Pray God 2 let'em be cool minded n tight, and not influenced by that crap. Best thing we can do is support and pray.
About the albums, I take them as a guide of my life. Backstreet Boys came out here, 1996, I was kid, I was happy, I had no idea of life, no idea of danger, but I was happy as hell. Backstreet's Back came out late 1997, not a long time, but secondary was changing my mind, I had more control over my life, but I didn't know how it really worked, always followin someone else's advices. I still was happy. Millennium, 1999. I knew how life was, I had friends, was good at school, it was one of the happiest years of my life, everything was light. Black & Blue, 2000. Family rows, health problems, I knew how life was, no more light. Things weren't getting better. Lost most of my friends, only the real ones stayed, and happened to appear, hopefully. But depression was imminent. Chapter One 2001, a year of revisions, the problems stayed there, and most of them got worse, lookin back to see what did I do wrong. Still between shadows, tryin 2 get out, still depressed. Now, let's think, comparing the albums with reallity, they got lotta things in common, at least with me, but compare it with the boys' lives and carreers.
I really don't know if someone's gonna read this, but if u do, plz email me n tell me what u think, I don't want to write for the simple fact of doin it, If my message is correctly written, I hope you all understand it, me, and the boys. Plz email me n lemme know kaos80@adinet.com.uy
See ya on the road! Take care plz!

Personally i thought this article was good. it was straight, and blunt. it told it like it was. i have liked bsb for pretty long, and i never knew how hard it obviously was for them. it definately made me respect them more for their percerviance and for their hard work.

I think a lot of fans need to realise that this artciale is factual, even though im sure some of it is exaggerated. the only thing that i disagree with, is that bsb are over. Trust me on this one, they're not gonna give up without a fight. but i think the next year is gonna test bsb more than ever before, a lots going on in the music industry, and id like to see bsb surpass all the doubts that people have.

the question is, will bsb be able to fulfill that famous line 'as long as there is music, we'll be coming back again'.

This article really pi**ed me off cos it makes out that its the end of BSB when it isnt. The boys have gone through soo much sh*t and they're still together which shows how good they are. Nsync don't deserve all the success that they've had cos they're just an imitation of the backstreet boys. They're not original.BSB are original and sound sooo much beta than NSync. I don't care what this article and all the other critics say. BSB make good music which makes me happy and millions of people happy and thats all I care about. They've got a new album coming out which is gonna b wiked and they're gonna be together for agez.NO1 can take their place!Good Luck to Nick for his new album and to BSB for their new album cos they deserve it.KTBPA

When I had read this article I had many emotions , I was sad, mad and happy. The reason why I was mad is because of all the $hit that the boys went through. Everything with The Firm , and Lou "the @$$" Pearlman. To think that the people they thought they could trust with managing them, just turns around and stabs them more than once in the back is horrible. It makes me sad and mad to think people would do such a horrible thing. The reason why I was happy when reading this article is because the boys have gotten through so much and are still happy to be making music. Not only that but they are also loyal to us, the fans.
I have been a BSB fan since 1997 and I will always be a fan no matter what. BSB has gone through so much, its awesome that they are still loyal to us,the fans and love to make music. For me like many others, all five of The Backstreet boys : AJ, Howie , Kevin, Nick, and Brian are all role models. Not only that but they are my idols. Not to sound corny but they are. They have shown me so much, and have gone through so much. But also them and their music has helped me through a rough time in my life, and I thank them for that from the bottem of my heart. I will always be a fan cause that is my way of saying thank you for everything. Also because they are 5 sweet, nice, really talented people.
Like many of you have already said, We should try and ignore articles like these, and just continue to love and support our boys.
I dont think that BSB is a pop sensation come undone. They are still making music and selling records so in my opinon that ain't bad at all.
Thanx for takin your time to read this.
Let's all just keep supporting the boys that we love and Keep The BAckstreet Pride Alive!

Ppl,Ppl,Ppl. I am getting so sick of this whole "BSB Breakup" crap. & I am getting sick of N'Sync, while over the years I've put aside my juvinile reasons for not liking them such as "They're ugly" after reading this article I grew to disgust them even more. I mean hello people Lance is off in Russia being studied like a lab rat so he can go to outer space, Justin's going solo, Joey is doing movies AND has a kid (and he's not married by the way),and there's this whole Justin /Janet Jackson rumor going around. But where are the critics out there that rag on N'Sync?! Everytime something happens to Backstreet..OMG they're breaking up! This is because critics WANT them to fail, so they can still make themselves feel better after years of "Oh they'll be gone in a year" that hasn't happened, so instead of saying they made a mistake and Backstreet isn't that bad, they try to cut them down. I'll admit the Boys could have done sooo much better than "Black & Blue" it's not all their fault, you can't rush an artist into recording something and them expect it to be the biggest thing out there, if that were true every "Joe Blow" in America could slap out an album and be a hit. & I am very upset w/MTV when you have VJ's like John Norris and Iann Robinson who are fine with everybody BUT the Backstreet Boys how are they supposed to be painted in a positive light on that station, when every 5 mins it's something about N'Sync. Both of which w/out Backstreet wouldn't be as popular. I can see it now, if it hadn't been for Backstreet the world would be like Carson who? TR what? Go VH1! This article also made me hate Lou Pearlman and Leighass even more. If anyone has nething to comment on, or add to this, feel free. & e-mail me, tell me what'cha think.KTBSPA

The writer's name is already "out there." The New York Times is one of the best, most credible newspapers in the country. The article was well-researched and factual. I don't like it that Nick was left twisting in the wind though. He doesn't have all the blame for what's going on with BSB right now... there are four other guys. When have you heard them saying they support Nick's album? I mean, really say.. it's good, we're proud of him, you go Nick? Never. Right. Pfffft.

The magazine is so wrong. I think they try to diss the backstreet boys and supporting N Sync. But they are wrong, no matter what, millions of fans out there always supporting the Backstreet Boys. Nick's solo is out right now and I know there's some fans out there think that the Boys are going to breaking up but I can tell you that they are NOT. Just wait and see, the Backstreet Boys will be back and better than ever. If you are real Backstreet's fans, please support their stuff like CD, VHS, DVD and their live concert, also supporting Nick Carter's solo album. Justin's solo is coming out too but we know for sure that Nick will beat him. We must keep the Backstreet Boys and Nick Carter on top, they will not reach the bottom line of their music career.

Umm Yah I just wanted to that like, there is a lot of truth in this, we all know that, I mean basically this was just bringing together information we've been hearing about for forever.

And if you are any real fan you don't have to read articles to know things about the boys, you can feel it.

But I think if you cut to the chase the main issue is that most of it was exaggerated for one purpose.

Whoever the writer of that column wanted his name out there. He wants to be in the lime-light. What better way than to diss the Backstreet Boys and support nsync? Not many.

Why is this? Because we love our boys so much. We need to learn to ignore people like this though.

If we don't start ignoring them now, basically we are going to be haunted by these types of articles forever.

It's my belief that the article in itself unveiled some truth... Like the lack of coherence in the Boys' management and all the blood-sucking they had to stand through. It's obvious that a group of people with such talent and success cannot simply lose their shine out of the lack of interes that the market is experiencing.
I think that the Boys aren't a pop sensation that came undone though...not in the very least. They have a very strong fan base, and the fact that they're experimenting with their image shows that they're not stuck to making money and striking a chord with teenyboppers, but actually being happy with themselves and what they do. While they lose some of the fickle fans (who move on to obsess over Nsync or Otown, it's happened before), they'll gain a very strong, solid fanbase, made up of loyal, dedicated fans. And since they've obviously chosen to move in a different direction than the before-mentioned groups, they'll end up not being threatened by the moves that the others do. If they've survived two rounds of bad management AND Jive cheating them, they'll definitely last. And the thing that made them last so long is the fact that they care about each other, they care about what they do, and most importantly they care about us, their fans.

this article show how much of an idiot Lou Pearlman is and how he wanted to ruin BSB before they even got started. i have been a BSB fan sine they performed at Sea World. I saw them with my family and i was hooked. i have met them several times and i am very close with a couple of them. this article does infact show what they are going through and how they feel. but there is alot of things that were not in this article that should have been in it. like the fact that several n sync members started fights with BSB members just to get them in trouble with the label and how others stole girlfriends from the others. all this article is doing is proving what we as BSB fans already know...... LOU PEARLMAN is a A$$ Hole and he deserves to lose all his money after he hurt the men we love!

Hey guys,
I so sorry for any of you who were on on monday and had to listen to my stupid a$$ of a sister (amy). She's into rock and rap and has a very small brain. I have to put up with this 365 days a years and to my surprise I'm still a diehard BSB fan. But I just wanted to say that the article did have some truth to it even though they way they may have put it seemed like the guys fought and were going to break up. I've learned to Igrnoe ALL rumors and only listen to the Backstreet boys themself.

It is really hurting to know that the Backstreet Boys only wanted to share their talents, but they had to experience those kind of situations. But we have to remember that the world they are living in is full of traitors and backstabbers. The world they belong to has BUSINESS as its main idea. I guess we should consider them very very lucky because they have been together for 9 years.

Let us all together pray that we fans would not leave them because we are one of the reasons why they stayed (and will stay) and because they are really talented. They are in this situation, and the best thing to do are to pray for them and support them. I'm sure we all want them to last in the business, right? I mean, imagine Boyz II Men,which is one of the BSB's inspirations. They are just right there somewhere, but when they release a single, everyone goes ballistic.

We should be together at these times and ignore what others say. They would not be a help to us, especially to the boys.

I guess i made myself heard. Thanks.

but I think we can all do something bout it... maybe writing/calling/emailing (whatever) to every tv and radiostation or to every mag in this world... when the press gets tired i think they can go to recordcompanies etc. to do something bout it... cuz this is not cool... if I wouldnt get paid i would leave my boss even before you can say cash...

I just wanna say that this article has made me think about the guys and their future. I mean, if it wasn't for us fans they wouldn't of been able to get through all the things they've been through. To see them accomplish a lot in 10 years is amazing!!! I think of guys as role models for me because of all they've been through. Being as young as I am I begin to understand why the guys do what they do. They entertain people not only for the love of it but for us fans. I am truly grateful to be a BSB fan because their songs touch not only my heart but others. They are truly the best gift god has made on this earth. To me the guys will always be who they are now-legends. I will love and support them from the bottom of my heart forever. Its true fans like me that keep the backstreet pride alive. This also goes out to Nick whose loving heart has touched mine so many times. I hope his solo career goes well. Lets keep our boys on top and support them. Lets hope they keep making music touches not only our hearts but our souls. To another decade of backstreet pride. LUV Y'ALL!! ~PEACEOUT~

The artical was a shock. I didn't really think things had got that bad for the boys. I have mixed feelings about it all, but the one thing I know is that I will forever be a fan, whether they are together or not. I hope they can at least give us one more album, but if they can't I'll still love them. They have been a light in my rather dark life. And to the fans that have said that they've gotten sick of them, or lost intrest, or whatever. They were never really true fans in the first place.
And as a final note. Everyone please buy Nick's new album. We gotta make it clear to everyone, especially MTV that Backstreet is still the best group out there! Their talent outshines everything else, whether as individuals, or as a group! KTBSPA!
