ok, i don't even know where to begin on this. i read it and wasn't quite sure how i felt. was this article saying that nick is no longer in the group? was their new management saying that nick is replacable?! ok, number one, i would just like to point out that the backstreet boys are a five part harmony, and those five parts are nickolas, howard, kevin, brian and alex. sure the eagles may have changed their memebers 3 times. but if we lose one member of the backstreet boys, it's over. everyone knows this. and i do think it is shitty that they got the wrong end of the deal. they didn't ask for nsync to copy them. but they did. and i'm not going to trash nsync. they are good in their own respect. very nice guys in person too. and the way i look at it is that i can be fans to everyone. i like nsync for their dance jams and i love the backstreet boys on account of their ballads. face it, "dirty pop" is a pretty catchy tune. and i feel that we the fans are creating this rivalry amongst the groups. and then there is the people that just hate boy bands all together. i just don't get it. everyone is just trying to make something of themselves here. can't we give these boys some credit? nick carter is the most talented man i have ever seen in my life. why isn't he getting props for this? the man is drop dead gorgeous. he can dance, he sure as hell can sing. he writes songs. he plays the drums with such passion, not to mention the guitar. he's an awesome drawer and he's so incredibly tight with his family it makes your heart melt. i wish i could say i was that talented. but i'm not. and i give the boys mad props. a good song is a good song. it doesn't matter who sings it. and i want the backstreet boys to stay around forever. i want to take my kids *when i have them in 10 years* to go and see them in concert. us fans need to get out there and buy their albums. support the backstreet boys. go see them on tour, even if it costs you $110 to do so. just go and represent. stand behind them in all that they do. they are doing this for us. and i want to say that i am honored that they do this for us. and you people who aren't openminded can trash talk me all you want. i know what brings a smile to my face. i know what helps calm me down during my college finals. i know what keeps me from freaking out during a traffic jam. i know what songs to sing at the karaoke bars that everyone knows. i know what's better on a shitty day than a pint of ben and jerry's. so, to the boys, thank you. you do more than you realize and we stand behind you 100%. whether it's rehab or boat racing or trying to save the world *y'all know how kevin is!* or solo albums, we're there for you. ok, enough of my rambling. please remember to keep the backstreet pride alive. they will get through this. they will for us. i have fatih in them.

Hey To All BSB Fans and Others....
I'm not going to sit here and say that NSYNC are to blame for anything, nor the record labels for Backstreet Boys Demise because there isnt one.
The Backstreet Boys have shaped the way for a lot of so called bands for the past 9 years. Who's to say some music critic or whoever it was, can determine a success or failure of a group who have only been honest and loyal to the people that got them there in the first place....the people they are always thinking of....their FANS!!
Of course you get the old Backstreet Boys are gay and the rest but honestly if we look at all the things that makes this group so special is that they've always wanted to do their best and sing by sharing their music with the rest of the world. They are human, they do make mistakes and yes if some people want to judge them for whatever reason LET THEM!! Because we all know the truth. NSYNC maybe getting the crowds or the record sales...but records and awards don't determine talent of a band. It's the fans devotion to BSB that keeps them alive. So I say this...for those who are true fans of BSB go ahead support them, if you aren't a fan don't support them...but whatever decision you do make...they will be here for as long as we want them here...i've been a fan for 8 years and i guess I will continue to support them. I hope everyone else does too.
thanx
Skye :)

The article was of interest to me. I kind of knew something was going on I just didn't know what. I'm glad that the guys can be so straight up with us about what they wanted for them and for us. I love them for that. I found the part about Leighanne to be interesting. I'm glad someone else can see what I've been seeing for a long time. Brian needs our prayers so if you do pray please include Brian. I have a feeling he will need them soon. Anyway thanks for posting the article for us.

Well, I'm going to have to cut this short cos if I decide to say ALL that's on my mind, I'll need to see the pple responsible in Jive first before any other. They thought and still think only of themselves, hurt The Boys, put a daggone dent in the career, which they, The Boys, have their hearts in...I think Jive record was selfish and greedy. What in the world made Pearlman think he's worthy of being a sixth member of The BSB?!!! Who told him he could do that? He neither sings nor dances and that's where most of the energy rests...I've never seen him appear on interviews at the wee hours of the morning, when ever BSB gets dissed [as is with all other celebrities of course] nothing is said of Pearlman not being able to sing or dance or even being a member of the "teeny bopper boy band," whatever makes pple say that...so while Pearlman Lou sleeps by 6AM, my boys Kevin, Brian, AJ, Howie D and Nick cut their sleep and are seated in front of some camera answering a series of worn out, hunger-causing, boring questions.
The Backstreet Boys have been cheated and that's apparent. This is a fair thought and not something I'm saying because they are famous...when NSYNC had a friction with Pearlman I felt for them...it was the same thing The BSB had endured in the hands of the same Pearlman... who now has the image of greed already.
I am praying for The Backstreet Boys: Kevin Scott Richardson, Brian Thomas Littrel, Alexander James Mclean, Howard Dwain Dorough and Nicholas Gene Carter...they are dudes that have decided to use their love for music to make good music, which would please everybody...notwithstanding the fact that some people would remain obstacles...
KTBSPA...Keeping it in Nigeria!
In the end, this doesn't seem short but I still have more to say to Jive and Co. [I'm much too upset..I had no idea The Boys were going thru this...they are not products and shouldn't be treated as such.]

Honestly y'all... who cares what some middle-aged man thinks about BSB? It's like they always say WE make THEM. Not the suits or execs (well... they have SOMETHING to do with it ;o)...) but anywho, it's not fair to say they are "lost". I think they're just getting started. But Jeff Gordon? That's another story... just kidding. Stand by your man! Have a wonderful day!

Its a VERY sad reality that the BSB and their fans have to learn to face.I kept denying it for 2years!!I couldn't accept that the BSBs had fallen from the pinnacle of their success.I guess it was the TRUE talent of these 5 boys that nobody has shown or even equalled that has made me believe that way.And how can any HUMAN being like and accept a group like N'syc!!This group has built itself on the attemt to break the BSB!!This is no base for existing!!No talent,no brains, nothing!Real PUPPETS to Mr.Pearlman! Its all just very sadning how this could happen to a Band that the entire world today would prefer to the others[including the new groups!]

First of all, the NY Times is not a tabloid, nor is it a "teeny" publication...secondly when I read that article, it sounded a lot to me like Jive and The Firm have a lot to do with dischord in BSBland and with Nick's album coming out first. Thirdly when that new manager guy said that about Nick, I wanted to scream! It worries me too (that the mgmt. and Nick might not be seeing eye to eye). And also it gets to me b/c *NONE* of the Boys are replaceable!

I agree, Katie. But it feels so good to stand up for what you believe in, and her insults just gave me reason to voice my beliefs even more so. And I know how to take crap from people, for I am also an avid Jeff Gordon fan. I get crap all the time and I just love him all the more. So come on, give me your insults! Increase my loyalty and love for my Boys! hehe I dare ya.

ok #1,to the people who are saying that bsb are brainwashing us and that they can't sing... what in the heck are you doing on a backstreet boy's website? just cuz you don't like their songs doesn't mean that you can ruin it for all of us and what you just said made me even prouder to be a bsb fan and also i'm guessing that what you also said didn't change anyone's mind. from what i've read bsb has been through a lot and its messed up on how the firm has tooken advantage of them but now that they are not with them, hopefully things will go on better. and also as long as we are still bsb fans and are still supporting them, bsb will be here to stay, we make them stronger so go on and keep the backstreet pride alive!!!! thats all i really have to say.
peace!

I never knew about all this things after i read this article. And i can see that if they ever break up (I hope not) it will be because of the Label or all that crap they're talking about in the article. What they always wanted was to make music, sing, that's waht they really like to do. And who would like to stay in a place were nobody lets you do you're life and rest sometimes. They are getting sick of all tgis people and what they do to the fans. I wish they'd never break up. And I would just tell them to do everything by their own, and, i don't know... do something that would make them happy and make music. They could get into thier own studio at home and record a CD, and that's it! Tell some company to make millions of copies of it and sell it! But i guess that's too hard, so, well. I just wish them a lot of luck.

BSB loves me... oops! i mean... I love you!

I honestly don't think the Boys are getting "lost" or "undone." They have achieved so much and they've formed part on the history of music. They'll never be forgotten. And they have a gigantic effect on so many people. Just by listening to them they make me feel so good. And I think that anybody who can have that effect on people and who can make someone feel the way they make ME feel (even if it's just a single person) is a person who should be very proud of themselves because not anybody is able to achieve that. I'll always remember the Backstreet Boys, even if they stop existing as a group, they will remain in my heart forever. And I know they have millions of fans who feel the same way I do. And they're one of the few who have achieved this, but they deserve it because they've worked very hard for it.

Amy,

Hate to inform your small brain, but BSB is more popular overseas than they are here in the USA. That is MANY, MANY different societies. All of them different in how they handle things such as music and movies. So, your little blah blah blah about our materialistic society is a bit, off. How can BSB succeed WORLD WIDE so greatly, with all the different cultures, if what you say is true? And get off the Teeney-bopper kick. That's so old that it died ten years ago. And FYI, a large portion of BSB fan base is in their twenties, including myself. Even more are adults. So just get off it and find your familiar corner to hide in, your fellow rodents and insects miss you. And, if you have so much sense, why are you so painstakingly trying to convince us that the BSB are done with? On a BSB board, filled with BSB "fans". Let me tell you something. You can't unmake a fan by insulting their object(s) of affection, you only make their devotion and loyalty STRONGER. The only ones who can cause the fans to turn away, are the artists, and BSB has not and will not do that.

Good-bye.
