MTV Video Awards 2001 - What Do You Think?

I think MTV and Jamie Foxx are disgusting. I would encourage all BSB fans to boycott MTV and their lame programming. They try to profit from everything they can, and then they make fun of the people who provide them with viewers. Carson is worst of all. He pretends to be sincere and appreciative of the boys, and then he makes fun of them and their work. At least, Jamie Foxx never pretended to like the Boys. He is an ass, and he doesn't try to hide it. Don't watch MTV. If you have Much Music, you are fortunate; watch that. If you don't, try to get it. MTV is a two-faced entity.

Ok, Jamie Foxx was a complete BUTT to A.J.! That was not very nice!! And i agree w/ some of you that i am DEFINATLY one that can take a joke about bsb when its all in good fun and they are being a musical group, but jamie foxx was joking about someones LIFE!! someone's very real life and very real strugle with something that was overtaking him! And he got passed it but Mr. Foxx thought he would be a smartelic and make jokes about him!! I mean, you wouldn't go into a rehab facility and run around screaming, "Ya'll want some VODKA!" i mean, so what makes AJ so different! Jamie should respect aj and not taunt him! That was very very rude and I think that Jamie should have to pay for what he said! KTBSPA! e-mail me w/ what u think!

I was very disappointed in MTV's Video Music Awards. Jamie Foxx's jokes aimed at A.J. were in bad taste and the crowd knew it. I thought BSB looked wonderful as they handed out the first award of the night. Brian looked fantastic in his suit. I couldn't believe it when Foxx reappeared with a bottle of champagne and offered it to the boys. Is this what passes for humor nowadays? Making light of someone's frailities? I thought A.J. handled himself with supreme dignity. Be proud of your sobriety, A.J. You have earned the right!

I was absolutly disgusted when I heard what Jamie Foxx had to say about AJ. That was totally uncalled for and not funny at all. I am usually one of those people who tell others to lighten up and be able to take a joke, but what was said about AJ was no joke. I think Jamie was totally out of line. I don't mind people making jokes about the Backstreet Boys because it's all in good fun. But the statements that were made on VMAs were totally apalling. Oh and by the way no matter what any stupid poll says everyone knows who the better band is. Come one people it is sooooo obvious.

i'm very upset with jamie fox! i hope you reconsider having him represent mtv ever again. he is very prejudice as well as insulting---not funny, noone was laughing. did you notice how he treated black celebrities vs. non black celebs? i saw his true side that night and was apalled. i used to have a picture of him when i saw him at the grammy's a couple of years ago, but i tore it up and will not watch his show or anything involving him ever. what took the cake was when he had a bottle of champaign and offered some to aj of the backstreet boys, i swear if i was there i would have taken that bottle and hit him upside the head with it!

I think that it doesn't matter who wins the VMA. I mean, if we cared what people thought, then would we be BSB fans in the first place? And just because they didnt get the statue, doesn't mean that they're not the better band. It's all a matter of opinion. In my opinion, they're the best, and that's all that matters. I know they're #1 in my heart. God bless America... God bless all of the families who are grieving right now. Peace out and ktbspa!

I was very angry at the rude and uncalled for comments of Jamie Foxx. I believe that AJ and the rest of the bsb are bigger men then he will ever be. It sickened me to see someone make fun of such a serious problem. He needs to get a life and learn how to treat people with respect.

To add to my last entry, I think songs, such as "Answe To Our Life" (as played at the beginning of this website today [9/14]) are perfectly explaining the world today, or more precisely, Tuesday, September 9, 2001 at 8:40 am. Another song that portrays the same message is "We Don't Wanna Come Down" by Joey McIntyre. I think we should promote those songs for radio stations and MTV to play. Again, thank you and god bless. I love all of you and unite as a country and as a world,

I know it's a little late to post this but for once will you guys please be quiet about this?? I mean yes I wish BSB could've won too but that too. They don't have to win an award to be winners they already have won something from each and every one of us and that is the shape of our hearts. And right now we need to show america that.

hey! I know this is not what everybody is talking about but I just heard " Drowning " on the radio and Oh my god the song is beautiful, it's a piece of art! The best! I was wondering if anyone of you knew where I can find the lyrics to the song! I have searched every where but no results! So if anyone knows where to find them please e-mail me or leave a message on this message board I would be really grateful! One more thing we have to be very PROUD of Our BOYS for donating 10,000 dollars to the Tuesday's attack!

Hello everyone! I just really want to say that today The Backstreet Boys concert is the only concert that is going on tonight because they are dedicating it to the crew worker that they lost in this horrible tragedy that happened only too close to me. I have also lost two uncles in this terrible accident. One of which was on the 96th floor of the first building that was hit and another that was a firefighter. I am very grateful to The Backstreet Boys for doing this and I would also like to dedicate their concert for the two people that I lost and for everybody else that has lost somebody. I also want to thank BSB for making a donation. They are the only big names that are famous that I have heard that made a donation and I really appreciate that. It's just another beautiful and generous thing that they have done. Thankyou, God Bless, and GO AMERICA AND BSB!!

I was very disappointed in the way Jamie Fox acted towards AJ and others. I was also disappointed that the boys didn’t win the viewers choice award because in my opinion the boys really deserved it. I mean how many artists would be that honest to their fans about their problems; not many. But in my book the BSB will always be winners and so will their fans because we stick together through anything god puts in our paths.

Overall, I thought that the VMA's were good, but they could have been a whole lot better. In my personal opinion the only highlights of the evening was Alicia Keys and Michael Jackson's performances. However, I do want to comment on Jamie Foxx. His comments about A.J. and Mariah Carey was totally inappropriate, and I think that he needs to make a public apology to the both of them for being so rude and insensitive. MTV had just announced earlier that day that Mariah had checked herself back into the hospital again, and for Jamie to make a comment like that wasn't cool. A.J. on the otherhand, has been making tremendous progress for himself, and the last thing he needs is to hear stupid remarks from the peanut gallery. A.J., I am proud of you for not letting Jamie get to you. Stay strong baby, we (the BSB fans) are behind you 110%!
