Realistically, I think It would be naive to think nothing would have been said. Afterall, the media in general, pursued the issue & MTV covered the events from beginning to end. Thank God I don't have family and friends there, and the Backstreet Boys weren't there either. My heart goes out to the people who've lost their lives because of total idiots, the families, and every person in New York City to have to go by that place so many times from now on, and see the Twin Towers gone. When I heard this in class, I was shocked, and scared, because if you think about it, Texas is not the safest place in the world right now considering we've got the head quarters of oil refineries, the pres. is from here, and half of the military is somewhere between San Antonio and Austin. Yet, even if this seems selfish, I am so glad that BSB are not in NYC, not in those planes, and safe, as is my family. No, I'm not off my rocker!! I love BSB with ALL my heart and this really upset me, but don't you realze what this has done? Just read all these reponses. I was shocked by the comments that Jamie Foxx made at the VMAs. It doesn't matter who it was about, no one deserves to be made fun of because of their problems. It's sad what MTV has come to today...it seems the only way they can get a laugh is at someone else's expense. And who better to poke fun at than BSB...they have MTV more popular than ever and this is the thanks they get for it!! If something is not done, if Jamie is not made to apologize, MTV will lose a fan. It's ashamed that someone who has gotten help for his problems gets made fun of in front of millions of people! If I'm not mistaken, not too many people at the VMAs actually laughed at that joke! I am a huge fan of Backstreet and I support the way they handled this situation with AJ. I personnally bought my daughters on June 2,2000 and it definitely rang up as a double album. The first time the cashier rang it up I questioned that she rang it twice. So she redid my order, this time it showed twice but was defineitely charged once. So she rang it up a third time by itself and it still showed two sales but only charged the right amount . At the time I did not think anything about it. My daughter lost the reciept. Then in November I read where this had been done deliberately to increase sales to ensure a sales record. It wasn't til then that I supected anything. Remember how the Beatles One album since it was a true two cd collection, showed two sales for every uint? This scandal could damage the entire record industry so it has not been dealt with. Lets face it, anything negative about Jive reflects poorly on our boys regardless. That's what I know about it. MTV has just givin the Boys the shoe way to many times and I'm NOT happy about it at all! MTV are selfish little fools and they don't understand one bit about others feelings and they can't realize good music when it comes at them. The BSB have some awesome and very powerful songs. They work hard at what they do and they deserve way more credit than what is givin to them. MTV can just go bite the big one! They had my last straw! I also would like to give Jamie Foxx a peice of my mind! He pissed me off so bad I can barely stand it! I cannot believe he had the oddasity to do that! How could anyone!
